10 Famous Early Riser Quotes

Early Riser Quotes.

For many students, early rising can be a difficult task. However, there are so many benefits that arise when you make this change in your life to get more out of each day.

If you don’t believe me specifically that rising early is the best way to go, I’m sure you will after hearing the words of some famous individuals.

Here are 10 of my favourite early riser quotes:

BUT, if you haven’t already read my article on why you should wake up earlier, check it out here first!

10 Early Morning Quotes:

1: “One key to success is to have lunch at the time of day most people have breakfast.” – Robert Brault

The reason I love this quote is because when you wake up early, you often consume all three meals at the appropriate time. Many people fall into the habit of either skipping breakfast completely, or combining breakfast and lunch at a much later time.

When you eat lunch while others are still on their first meal, you’ll feel much more productive and proud of yourself.

2: “Wake up early and tackle the day before it tackles you. Be on offense, not defense.” – Evan Carmichael

For all you sports fans and student athletes, Carmichael’s quote is one you should pay attention to.

It’s always a better feeling to be on offense in sports, rather than defense. You’ll have more control over your day, and you won’t be stressed due to falling behind or wasting time.

3: “How we start our day determines how we create our life. Are you snoozing through your morning… snoozing through your life… and snoozing through your unlimited potential.” – Hal Elrod

I love this quote by Hal Elrod. Way too many individuals struggle to resist the temptation of hitting snooze on their alarm every single morning.

This quote has a motivational and inspiring message behind it. Elrod wants everyone to realize their full potential, but states that if you continue to snooze through your life, you’ll never know what you’re actually capable of!

4: “Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.” – Lemony Snicket

For those of you who don’t know, Lemony Snicket is the author of a best selling book series titled “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”

This quote almost reflects off the title of Snicket’s series, as it explains that your morning lays the foundation for the rest of your day.

When you decide to be lazy in the morning, chances are you’ll continue that trend throughout the day. However, if you wake up early and start chipping away at your to-do list, you’ll feel much better later on in the day.

5: “Early to bed and early to rise, Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” – Benjamin Franklin

Many of you know Benjamin Franklin as one of the founding fathers of the United States. But, did you know he was an early riser himself?

This is a very simple quote, but it has an important meaning.

Although waking up and going to bed early can not guarantee that you’ll be healthy, wealthy, and wise, it can definitely enhance your chances of achieving each trait.

6: “I never knew a man come to greatness or eminence who lay abed late in the morning.” – Johnathan Swift

The reason I chose this quote is because it’s simple, yet the message is clear and concise. If you want to achieve greatness or eminence, it begins with waking up and getting started.

Swift wanted everyone to be inspired by his words. When you ‘lay late in the morning’, you waste lots of valuable daylight.

7: Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It’s the best part of the day.” – George Allen, Sr.

This quote is for everyone. Besides waking up early, it touches on a few other aspects of life you should live by. When you work hard, you’ll achieve more of your goals.

By staying positive, you’ll live a better life for yourself, and improve the lives of those around you.

Lastly, when you wake up early, you’re experiencing the best part of the day. Don’t miss out on that opportunity.

8: Life is getting up an hour early, to live an hour more” – Unknown

Although I could not trace this quote back to its origin, I had to include it in this post. An extremely simple message, yet so deep when you think about it.

Life is short and you should not take anything for granted, so make the decision to wake up an hour early and experience the world for an hour more.

9: “There is nothing more beautiful than nature early in the morning.” – Vincent Van Gogh

One of the most famous painters of all time, Van Gogh’s quote about nature in the morning should inspire you to jump out of bed each day and get outside.

In fact, research shows that fresh air in the morning can elevate your mood and increase your happiness.

10: “The early bird gets the worm” – Unknown

Obviously, I had to end with this extremely famous quote. I have no idea who was the first to say it, but everyone has likely heard it before.

The quote essentially suggests that whoever arrives first has the best chance of success.

Using the analogy of birds and hence the image at the beginning of this article, the earliest bird to arrive at the worm will be the one to eat it.

I hope you enjoyed some of these famous quotes!

I’m certain that now you’ll be ready to jump out of your bed at the crack of dawn. I promise you’ll have a much more productive day and feel a lot better about yourself.

  1. Number 7 is my favorite of all. Such basic words, but they hold truth. I love waking up early these days and try to remain as positive as possible every morning I wake up. Plus, like you said I feel like I get to experience the best part of the day before I get on with things. And of course working hard can get you very far.

  2. I really like Benjamin Franklin’s quote “Early to bed and early to rise, Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” I feel like that’s the one I would use a motivation to wake up early. I already get out of bed easily in the morning but it’s my goal to start waking up at 5am every day. I find it easier to be productive at the hour because everyone else is still asleep so there are fewer distractions. I also tend to just feel better when I wake up early. I definitely think there is value to those quotes!

    1. Hi Sam! That one was one of my favourites as well! Waking up early has so many benefits – I too have found that it makes me more productive and encouraged to complete my tasks for the day. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  3. Your quotes are very motivational for me. As we know although waking up and going to bed early can not guarantee that we’ll be healthy, wealthy, and wise, it can definitely enhance our chances of achieving each trait. By staying positive, we’ll live a better life for our self, and improve the lives of those around us. Thanks for your valuable time and efforts.
